The soloist was James Lebens. The concerto was commissioned in memory of Brazilian trombonist Radegundis Feitosa Nunes who died in a tragic automobile accident. Brevig, Lebens and Ewazen, who were close friends of Radegundis', wanted to memorialize their friend who was a fellow student of James Lebens - both former students of Per Brevig - at Juilliard.

Per Brevig has previously conducted eight orchestras in Brazil with many return engagements. The program for this concert was:
     Mozart: Overture to Don Giovanni
Ewazen: Cancoes Du Sol (Songs of the Sun)
